KCC Chemistry Lecturer and NIT researcher Alijan Hussain develops ILS

Jamshedpur, August 21:Chemistry Lecturer at the Mango campus of Karim City College (KCC), Alijan Hussain, has developed an Integral Laser Marker (ILM) while pursuing his research under guide and mentor, Dr Balram Ambade at NIT Jamshedpur and with the assistance of Dr Alok Sagar Gautam, a scientist from the Physics department of Garhwal Central University. His ILM research and design has received international patent fromthe United Kingdom.

The ILM preserves the purity, accuracy and durability of the etched words on any metal for years to come. Alijan Hussain and his team developed this laser marker design under the guidance of Dr Balram Ambade of NIT Jamshedpur with the assistance of Dr Alok Sagar Gautam, a scientist from the Physics Department of Garhwal Central University.

This marker’s applications span across various industries. It can be used in the automobile industry for tasks such as vehicle and chassis numbers marking as alsoin the realm of jewelry, electronics, aircraft repair and metal packaging. Experts opined that this innovation was poised to bring about a revolutionary change.

Alijan Hussain’s PhD research paper has already been submitted for evaluation, and he is soon to be awarded his degree. His research paper has been published in international journals like Springer, Nature, and Wiley. He was also selected for NASA’s Imaging Innovation Program in 2023. He has presented his research papers on various national and international platforms.

Dr Balram Ambade, his research Mentor and KCC Principal Dr Md Reyaz,have congratulated Alijan Hussain on this achievement and wished him a bright future. (w/gsd)
